dc.description.abstract Benzo[4,5] cyclophepta [1,2,3-de] naphthalene has been synthesised by a route different from that employed by Muller et. al. A synthetic approach to the dicyclohepta [ghi,mno]-fluoranthene, the seven-membered ring analogue to the dibenzo- [ghi, mno]fluoranthene, has been investigated up to the cyclisation step and four more new 7,1O-disubstituted fluoranthene derivatives have been isolated in this work. en_NZ
